Relying on someone is crucial. From my experience, it is very
important to get advice from people at different stages of their
scientific careers: those who are just in your shoes, those who are
a few years ahead of you and those who are already established.
This can help you make better decisions.
Michal R. Szymanski
Rely on someone who is interested in your success without taking advantage
of it. It could be your mentor, your department head or an experienced
scientist. Those who can give you an advice with vision. My undergraduate
supervisor has been crucial in this process. She has given me the strength
and the vision to look beyond routine problems that o en make us lose
perspective of the bigger picture.
