36 What are some typical r H values and how will I know what the data means? Generally, r H values for monomeric proteins are in the 2-8 nm range. Changes in r H might reflect oligomerization of monomers. Protein complexes start in the 10-50 nm size range, but can get much larger depending on the complex in question. Adenovirus, or AAV, which is a common gene therapy vector, is about 20 nm in radius. As particles get more complex, they tend to get larger. Viruses and bacteriophages are hundreds of nm in size. Once you are considering full eukaryotic cells, they are about 1 micron, or 1000 nm in size.
