DLS typically uses incident light in the visible to near
infrared spectrum. As the wavelength gets shorter, the
light becomes more intense. As described in the previous
section, DLS uses elastic scattering, so the wavelength
and intensity do not change upon interacting with the
particles in solution. Thus, bluer light will scatter more
intensely for the same particle size.
Wavelength of incident light in an instrument is a fixed
parameter and does not change between experiments.
Shorter (or "bluer") wavelengths give more
scattering intensity.
