34 Seek donations It's said that the best things in life are free, so take advantage of this. Ask university laboratories and non-profit organizations about equipment and lab materials that are out of use and could be donated. A good example is Seeding Labs that collects lab equipment in good working conditions and distributes it to universities and research institutions in developing countries. I managed some contributions from retiring researchers from my old institution in Scotland. In all, I gathered 3 m 3 (106 3 ) of tools and equipment, including power supplies, tanks for western blots and hundreds of micropipettes among many old and used stuff. Alejandro Rojas "
